What peptide COAs show — and what they leave out.

Peptigrity's COA benchmarks summarise 11,907 lab certificates that peptide shops published for their own products. Fewer than 1 in 300 shows under 95% purity — but about 1 in 15 holds less than 95% of the peptide on the label, and many hold far more.

Of these, 11,904 were published by the shop that sells the vial — collected from its website or sent in by the shop. Three were sent in by members who bought a vial and had it tested. Shops choose which results to publish and rarely publish a bad one, so read these figures as the best case — what shops are willing to show — not as what every vial on the market holds. Is this COA normal?

Pick the compound and type what the certificate says. You'll see where it sits among the COAs shops publish for the same compound. It can't tell you whether your vial matches the certificate — only a test of your own vial can.

Purity barely moves. The amount in the vial does.

On most compounds, 8 in 10 COAs sit within one percentage point of purity. The measured amount typically spreads across 25–40 points of the label — in both directions.

What that means for a dose

A vial labelled 10 mg that holds 12 mg: every dose worked out from 10 mg holds 20% more than planned. One that holds 8.5 mg gives 15% less. The peptide calculator works from whatever amount you enter — the label, or the measured figure on your batch's COA. Vials in one batch differ too, so even your batch's COA is an estimate for your vial.A vial labelled 10 mg that holds 12 mg: every dose worked out from 10 mg holds 20% more. Part of the spread is the lab

Labs don't all measure the amount the same way, or count the salt form the same way. On BPC-157, the median reads 99% of the label at one lab and 114% at another. Treat a single figure as approximate, and compare like with like: the results by lab on each compound's page.

What most COAs leave out

A certificate answers the questions the shop paid the lab to ask. These are the ones it often doesn't.

Where these COAs come from

Peptigrity staff collect certificates from shops' own websites and from what shops and their suppliers send in. Each is checked before it's listed; ✓ means it was also found on the lab's own portal. No shop pays, and none chooses what Peptigrity publishes — but every shop chooses which of its results it makes public.

What is a peptide COA, and how do I check one?

A certificate of analysis is a lab's report on one sample: how pure it is (HPLC), how much peptide is in the vial, and sometimes its identity (mass spec) and endotoxin. To check one: the lot number should match your vial, the lab should be named, the date should be recent, and you should be able to find the report on the lab's own site. Can you trust a vendor's own COA?

It's real for the one sample the lab received — and the shop chose that sample. It's the shop's best result, not a random vial, and it doesn't prove the vials it ships match. Of the COAs on file here, all but three came from the shops themselves. Group tests and a test of your own vial are what show what a shop actually ships.

What purity should a peptide COA show?

Shops' COAs almost always show more than 98%, so a high purity figure doesn't set a shop apart. It's most useful compared with the usual range for that compound: a result below it is lower than 9 in 10 COAs shops publish. The table above has the range for each compound.

Label or COA: which amount is in my vial?

Neither, exactly. The label is what the shop meant to put in. The COA is what a lab measured in one vial of that batch — on shops' COAs the median is about 7% above the label. Other vials in the batch can differ, and labs measure differently. If the COA isn't for your lot, it tells you nothing about your vial's amount. Peptigrity doesn't advise on doses; the calculator works from whichever amount you enter.

Does an old COA still count?

It shows that batch on the day it was tested. It says nothing about how the vials were stored since, or about later batches. On each compound's page, certificates are listed newest first with their test date.

Can a shop fake a COA?

Yes — edited and reused certificates exist. Peptigrity checks each certificate before listing it, and ✓ marks one also found on the lab's own portal. Before you rely on one, look up your vial's lot number.

What if my vial tests far below the label?

It happens even among the COAs shops choose to publish: 120 of 11,768 here read under 80% of the label. Retest at a second lab if you can, ask the shop for the COA of that lot and for a refund or replacement, and submit your result so the next buyer sees it.

Method, downloads and citing

How the figures are worked out

Every published COA for a single vial counts once. Blends are left out (one purity and one amount for several peptides). Supplier-provided COAs are listed on the compound pages and left out here.
Purity is the HPLC figure on the certificate. The amount is the measured content divided by the labelled content.
Medians and the usual range (10th to 90th percentile) are worked out per compound. A compound needs at least 5 COAs with that figure; below that it shows a dash.
No weighting by date, shop or lab. A shop that publishes more COAs counts more.
The page updates when a COA is approved. The date at the top is the newest COA's test date.
A nightly snapshot keeps each day's figures, so a citation dated to a day can be checked later.
