What SLU-PP-332 is, and what this calculator can actually tell you

SLU-PP-332 (also designated SR9861) is a synthetic small-molecule pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptors ERRα, ERRβ and ERRγ, most potent at ERRα (EC₅₀ ≈ 98 nM). It is not a peptide — chemically it is a naphthalene–hydrazone small molecule, C18H14N2O2, 290.32 g/mol — and despite being marketed by many vendors as an “exercise-mimetic peptide”, it has never been administered to humans in a controlled study. All published efficacy data come from rodent models.

What the evidence base does contain: a 2023 ACS Chemical Biology study from the Burris laboratory showing SLU-PP-332 triggered an ERRα-dependent acute aerobic-exercise-like response and enhanced exercise capacity in mice — with no human data before or since. Related rodent work reported reduced fat mass and improved metabolic parameters in diet-induced obese mice, attributed to increased fatty-acid oxidation and mitochondrial output. Because it has never been given to humans in a controlled study, there is no established human side-effect profile, no known safe dose and no long-term safety data.

Concentration if you dissolve a SLU-PP-332 powder vial

A 10 mg vial dissolved in 1 mL is 10 mg/mL and carries 1 mg in each 0.1 mL; the same vial in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL and carries 0.5 mg. A 0.5 mg vial in 1 mL is 0.5 mg/mL — twenty times weaker per volume than the 10 mg vial at the same solvent volume, which is why the container size matters more than the volume you pick. A volume quoted without a concentration cannot be used; the vial still holds the same compound in every case.

Read that table as measurement resolution, not as a protocol. The smallest tracked container, 0.5 mg, in 1 mL of solvent gives 0.05 mg in a tenth of a millilitre. At that scale an error of a hundredth of a millilitre is a 10% error in compound.
