Neither BPC-157 nor KPV is approved by the FDA — or any other regulator — for human use as of August 2026; both are sold strictly as research-use-only material. In April 2026 the FDA removed BPC-157 and KPV from its 503A Category 2 bulk-substances list because the nominations had been withdrawn by the nominators — an administrative removal that did not add them to Category 1 or authorise pharmacy compounding. At its July 23–24, 2026 meeting the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted to recommend both BPC-157 and KPV (8–6–1 each) for the 503A compounding list — advisory recommendations the FDA's own reviewers had opposed, which the agency has not finalized; formal rulemaking is not expected before 2027. In sport, BPC-157 is prohibited by WADA under S0 (non-approved substances); KPV is not named on the WADA Prohibited List. Evidence level: regulatory status only — neither component is FDA-approved, and the blend has no controlled human trial.
