99% purity but no endotoxin testing?

Lab Test Results1 reply · 18 views · last reply Jump to latest ↓

Anyone else find it weird how everyone focuses on 99% purity but barely talks about endotoxins? Most COAs I've seen dont even test for it. Just purity and quantity..I mean 99.9% purity sounds nice but that doesn't tell you anything about endotoxins right?

Curious if anyone here actually gets their stuff tested for endotoxins or just goes by the usual COA?

yeah purity and endotoxins are two different things. HPLC just tells you how much of what's in there is actually the peptide. endotoxins are leftover bacterial junk from manufacturing or the fill process, so you can have a 99.9% vial that still has them. you need a separate LAL test for that.

honestly most COAs we get don't have it. a few vendors do it, mostly the ones running their own fill and finish. it costs extra and almost nobody asks, so it gets skipped.

if a shop says "sterile" or "endotoxin free" and there's no LAL line on the COA, they're just saying it.

ask them. the more people ask the more it shows up.
